This is a COPY/REDRAW with ALTERATIONS of this original illustration by Hiromu Arakawa: [link]
The original image, idea, pose, entire series and characters belong to Arakawa-sensei. I do not claim any of those things, all I can claim is this redraw and re-imagining of this illustration in a steampunk style. Again, this is a redrawing/copy of an existing illustration, I do not claim anything but this new drawing, which his heavily indebted to the original work of Arakawa-sensei.

Please full view for all the detail. This was a VERY detailed lineart.
I never intended to draw a steampunk FMA piece, but suddenly the idea hit me after attending a sci fi lecture that talked about the genre, so I decided to try it out. I apologize for any genre and visual inaccuracies with the fashion. I based the clothing off google and what I've seen at conventions.
Colored and painted with a lot of texture; I wanted a very grungy, faded look to the colors, something that looked like marker or watercolor or even pastels.
heh, eds planning something XD really unexpected idea but it goes well and the dress suites winry really well in my opinion, the dog dog looks like one of those smart old proffesers heh
That is SUPER awesome! It looks just like you would think FMS steampunk would be. The detail is amazing and you got the style just right. Fantastic picture!
I must have been very busy indeed to have not commented on this little gem. Looking at the date now, it was during the time of my University finals and major essay writing time, so I suppose that's no surprise. If it's not too late, can I tell you that I love it? The idea to transform the characters from that original image into this steampunk rendition is brilliant, and it looks great on all of them. I love what you did to make the colours look faded, and the decision to make the background look grunged and splotched like that really works. The patience you have for putting in the amount of detail you did is nothing short of commendable, I mean all of the rivets and gears, hell down to the fact that Winry and her dog(his name escapes me>.<) have the crest from the back of Ed's coat on the face of their watches and jewelry! Dedication! It's classy, it's sweet, and I really absolutely love it ^_^
Makes me want to re-do my FMA Steampunk picture...
Keep up the great work! ^^
